Photoshop Gameday Preview - Carolina @ Ottawa
by Steve On Sens
With time winding down on the troublesome 2013/14 Ottawa Senators season, the play of the Senators has all but cooled down. Realistically, the team couldn't have cooled down anymore. Scoring was an issue, defence was an issue, goaltending was an issue but hope was not an issue. With 3 out of 4 possible points in Florida and wins against the Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames, there is a new sense of hope for this team. Can the Senators pass the struggling (understatement) Toronto Maple Leafs? Are playoffs a real possibility? Is the secret to success Cotton Eyed Joe? Will Cody Ceci be back? Will an unexpected Binghamton call-up leave us without a photoshop of the most pertinent news of the day? Let's take a peek at what's in store for tonight's game and find out!
Looking ahead at this week's Ottawa weather, it seems that there is a rare tropical storm hitting Canada's Capital. Although a hurricane would devastate the region, many residents are relieved that the cold will finally end.
Saturday is looking to be a record hot day...and I'm not talking about Jeff Skinner's smile |
With Ottawa's recent success, the team's playoff chances pushed over the 1% mark. To celebrate this special occasion, Captain Jason Spezza brought out his sign that was originally intended for the "Respect for People with Strange Laughs" protests.
He was originally wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, but it's hard to stay anonymous with a laugh like that. |
In recent weeks, the ban of the hit song 'Cotton Eyed Joe' at Canadian Tire Centre has been lifted. With Cotton Eyed Joe and Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford back in town, it was time for a reunion!
If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eyed Joe I'd been cup contender long time ago |
In yesterday's game against the Flames, Cody Ceci was a healthy scratch in favour of Chris Phillips/ Patrick Wiercioch. Former Sens/Canes Cory Stillman, Martin Gerber, Mike Commodore and Matt Cullen stopped by to take in the action and support Ceci who looks to be back in the lineup tonight!
Wonder how many girls Gerber's picked up with those muscles |
Update: Jean-Gabriel Pageau has been recalled from Binghamton. If you want to know what that means for the lineup, I suggest checking with actual reputable sources.
Update 2: Spezza and Cowen are out with minor injuries, which explains the Pageau call-up. Ceci's back in the lineup for Cowen. This photoshop preview officially features 0 Ottawa Senators in the lineup tonight, which is why we remain the least trusted source for Ottawa Senators news.
Enjoy the game!
